The outstanding Russian NT scholar and theologian, professor of St. Petersburg Orthodox Theological Academy Archminandrite Iannuary Ivliev died on 21 December 2017, aged 74.

Fr. Iannuary was also professor of St. Andrew’s Biblical Theological Institute. For many years he taught his courses on the New Testament both to our bachelor's students and to the students of our Summer Theological Institutes.

St. Andrew’s published two of his books, commentaries on the Book of Revelation and on the Gospel of Mark. Both became our bestsellers. We were hoping for Fr. Iannuary’s complete commentary on the whole of the New Testament to be published but his untimely death did not allow him to accomplish his plans.
