New Conference: "Religious Consciousness in a Post-Secular Society" (12-15 Dec. 2017, Moscow)

Religious consciousness is not a homogenous and immutable thing; it is dependent on historical, cultural and political context, and may experience drastic changes over time. Being affected by different aspects of contemporary life, religious consciousness is becoming a very complicated and tangled phenomenon. Discussing and understanding this is very important for developing the dialogue between religion and post-secular society, in which religion is playing a more and more significant role.Читать

New Conference: Reformation in Ecumenical Perspective (25-28 Oct. 2017, Bose, Italy)

Reformation is a phenomenon that takes place in every church, although in very different ways. Is it possible to talk today about reformation in an ecumenical perspective? How can interchurch dialogue shape the form and reform of today’s Christianity? Can both the idea of reformation and the concept of tradition be present in church consciousness without contradiction? These are the issues to be addressed in the course of the forthcoming conference. Читать

Global Ecumenical Theological Institute 2018

The Global Ecumenical Theological Institute (GETI) 2018 is a global ecumenical short-term study and exposure programme in accompaniment of the World Mission Conference in March 2018 in Arusha, Tanzania. It is designed for approximately 120 advanced students in theology and related academic fields with an interest in gaining insights into the ecumenical movement’s current debates on understanding and practicing mission in various regions of the world. Paul Gundersen – A Finnish businessman, author, decorated War Veteran and friend to hundreds around the world – died in Helsinki, Finland on 29th August 2016, aged 95. He was over many years a good friend of St. Andrew's.Читать

In 2017 the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Reformation will be celebrated. The 16th century Protestant Reformation had a profound impact not only on Western Christianity but also on Western society in general. Can we connect those radical changes that are taking place around us with the processes that began in Europe 500 years ago? What is the peculiarity of the Russian situation? New Conference: "Theology of Nature" (9-12 Nov. 2016, Utrech, the Netherlands)

The roots of today’s ecological crisis can be traced back to the arrogant Christian attitude that saw nature mostly in an anthropocentric perspective. The theology of nature needs to develop a new approach that sees nature as God’s fully-fledged creation, in no respect inferior to the human being and not an object of human manipulation. What kind of language could theology use for this? Can it learn from other religions characterized by a more respectful attitude toward nature? Читать
